Attention Friends, Family Members, and Neighbors: 

The Future Ligonier Alliance and Operation Foundation are at it again- and we want you to be a part of it!

We are extremely excited to announce the beginning of the Ligonier Riverwalk Project! This one mile walking path will begin at Woodlawn Park at Bridge Street and will continue along the North Side of the Elkhart River, eventually connecting to Discovery Express in Downtown Ligonier. The Essex Wire property will be transformed into a beautiful open green space in order to take advantage of this wonderful asset that has been winding through Ligonier for generations.

Here's how you can help:

We need 10 teams of people to adopt approx. 500 ft. each.
This could be a Church Group, Family, Service Club, Business, Industry, or Other. The walkway will be marked out ahead of Opening Day on Dec. 8th. Teams can work at their convenience, but should plan on attending this meeting. Each section will be dedicated to the adopting organization which will be recognized with a plaque. Please bring chain saws, rakes, handsaws, shovels, wheel barrows, etc.

Come ready to work - Ground will be broken!

If you have not yet signed up to be a part of this exciting project, it's not too late! You may contact Karen Lemire from Volunteer Connections to fill out your worker application. (1-800-VOLUNTEER) You may also drop by on Opening Day December 8th at 8:00 AM. The meeting will be held at the Ligonier Sports and Recreation Center in the Community Room. Coordinators will be on hand to sign you up. If you don't already have a team, show up anyway! We'll find a place for you.
